Client Stories: Workplace Experience & Office Coordinator Alex Vu
Can you introduce yourself and tell us a bit about what you do?
Hi, I'm Alex! My work centers around creating meaningful workplace experiences and providing thoughtful administrative support. Over the years, I’ve explored a colorful mix of industries—from technical roles to recruiting to office management. What ties it all together is my passion for building spaces where people feel welcome, safe, and inspired to do their best work.
Outside of work, my interests include automotive photography, pole dance, anime, and good food!
What motivated you to get a new headshot? How old was your previous headshot?
At the time, my goal was to create a LinkedIn profile that could stand out during the job search however, I've also found it to be a valuable addition for putting a face to the name on my photography website page along with modeling gigs.
How did you feel about your old headshot, and what were you looking for in your new one?
My 2 year old selfie didn't really do a good job of conveying what I wanted to show recruiters and the world.
I wanted a headshot that really stood out from the ordinary ones I'd see on a day to day basis across LinkedIn. Jeff's style of editing, lighting, and color was a breath of fresh air.
In what ways do you think your new headshot has impacted your business, visibility or job search?
My headshots are versatile for everything I need from LinkedIn, my photography website, as well as my social media pages.
Have you received any feedback or comments on your new headshot?
People always give me compliments about it and ask me about where I got my headshots done.
How important do you think a professional headshot is for someone in your field?
You only have one chance to make a first impression so why not make it a great one?
What advice would you give to someone considering getting a new headshot?
Go into it with intention. For example, I focused on having mine show that to celebrate the many parts of who I am, a professional that also embraces the experimental and creative sides of my identity.
Were you nervous or uncomfortable with the idea of having your photos taken and if so how was the experience in the end?
Nope, Jeff did a really great job of providing directions to help make our collaborative vision come to life! I've done two different sessions with him and I easily see that he's amazing at what he does.
How did you prepare for your headshot session, and do you have any tips for others on how to get ready for theirs?
8 hours of sleep the day before, pick 2-3 outfits based on Jeff's advice, and do whatever self care rituals help you to show your best self on the day of! If you have concerns about poses, create a Pinterest board of ones you'd like and practice at home in the mirror.
On the day of, don't forget to take stretch breaks and drink water!
How was your experience working with S72 for your headshot session?
Jeff was awesome to work with! It was a fun time being able to talk shop during our past sessions. He makes you feel right at home in his space.
