Can you introduce yourself and tell us a bit about what you do?

I'm Charlotte Evans, and I serve as Coursera's Director of Global Customer Advocacy for Coursera for Business. My role encompasses a mix of representing the company at education and HR events, along with meeting with strategic clients to understanding their learning and development needs.

What motivated you to get a new headshot? How old was your previous headshot?

My role means I get to meet lots of new folks at conferences and client meetings. I wanted to put my best foot forward and also have a new picture that represents me and my personality.

How did you feel about your old headshot, and what were you looking for in your new one?

My old headshot showcased a much younger version of me from 2015, and while I like to think I've stayed the same, I knew I needed one that represented 2025 me, so here we are!

In what ways do you think your new headshot has impacted your business, visibility or job search?

I'm so glad I'll have a vibrant, fun image to be able to share leading up to events and for folks who discover me through LinkedIn, to get a quick snapshot into me as a person and as a professional.

Have you received any feedback on your new headshot?

My colleagues all immediately noticed the new look on Slack and loved it. In fact, I had a bunch of them vote to help me decide which picture they felt like really looked like me. It was fun to hear their thoughts!

How important do you think a professional headshot is for someone in your field?

Super important. Representing my company is an honor and having a polished look helps a lot in feeling confident in that role.

What advice would you give to someone considering getting a new headshot?

I am not a camera person, and I was quite nervous about this beforehand. I'd say think about what vibe you want to project in the picture, what your goal is, and where on the joyful to serious spectrum you want to sit with your smile and look.

Were you nervous or uncomfortable with the idea of having your photos taken and if so how was the experience in the end?

The experience was super chill in the end, even with my nerves. Turns out all you need to know how to do is smile! Jeff guided me through the whole experience with such ease.

How did you prepare for your headshot session, and do you have any tips for others on how to get ready for theirs?

I brought a few different blazers with me, which helped to sub out some looks. I also am glad I chose colors that were fun and were me instead of feeling like I should go with black or navy (not to say navy isn't fun!).

Is there anything else you’d like to share about your experience or the impact of your new headshot?

So worth it. Highly recommend.

How was your experience working with S72 for your headshot session?

Jeff is great. His studio is super cool, with all kinds of backdrops and lighting. I felt like I was in a movie set. And did I mention we wrapped the shoot in 20 minutes and I had my pictures by the time I got home?
