Client Stories: Founder and CEO of One Rawr Harps Mangat
Can you introduce yourself and tell us a bit about what you do?
Hi! My name is Harps, and I am the Founder and CEO of One Rawr. One Rawr is a fractional marketing consultancy firm supporting growth-minded startups and SMBs with their marketing strategies and execution. We help companies overcome the issue of hiring full-time marketers without compromising quality and results.
What motivated you to get a new headshot? How old was your previous headshot?
Given my role and dealing with clients every day, it was important for me to update my headshot and get something that aligned to my brand. I was being asked to speak at events and didn't really have a headshot that I would be proud to share.
How did you feel about your old headshot, and what were you looking for in your new one?
I really didn't like what I had; it was a few years old, lacked personality, and didn't align with my role or the industry I was working in. When I started searching for a photographer to help me, I was looking for someone who could give me something a little different to the standard headshot you see everywhere. Could it be more moody as a tone, a wider shot than a normal headshot, or a slightly different angle than what we normally expect? I wanted my new headshot to scream professional and thoughtful.
In what ways do you think your new headshot has impacted your business, visibility or job search?
I am excited about my new headshots and couldn't wait to change my LinkedIn profile and send it off to folks as the new image to use for my speaking engagements. I am so happy with how they turned out.
How important do you think a professional headshot is for someone in your field?
It's crucial, it's the first thing people's eyes land on. You want there to be an instant connection, and I feel I got just that with my headshot.
What advice would you give to someone considering getting a new headshot?
Do it! Its so worth taking the time to invest in yourself! Plus, the time flew by with Jeff. I felt so good leaving the session and knowing that the money had been spent well! Jeff shows you the images as you go along so you can changes outfits or your pose to make sure you get a look you are happy with at the end!
Were you nervous or uncomfortable with the idea of having your photos taken and if so how was the experience in the end?
Finding a good photographer that you like the style of is one thing but then connecting with them is another. I was worried about if it would be awkward but Jeff was so easy to work with! He listened to my feedback and even helped me pick from the outfits I had bought with me for the photoshoot. I loved the variety of shots he took, and there was no shortage of great photos from which I could select! I will definitely be back for more!
How did you prepare for your headshot session, and do you have any tips for others on how to get ready for theirs?
Being a marketer, my go-to place to plan for the photoshoot was Instagram. I grabbed a lot of different ideas about what looked good from an outfit perspective before coming up with different outfit combinations to select from.
Is there anything else you’d like to share about your experience or the impact of your new headshot?
Just don't wait! If it's on your mind to get a new headshot; Jeff is your person! All the reviews about him are true and I am so glad I booked him!
How was your experience working with S72 for your headshot session?
Amazing! Jeff was very sincere, adaptable and so easy to work with! He made me feel instantly comfortable, and you could see he wanted you to have the best outcome from the shoot. When I arrived at his building, I actually met his previous client walking out, who also only had great things to say about Jeff. You could never tell that Jeff had just finished another shoot, he was attentive, and I didn't feel rushed. He never made me feel like another client, it was like I was his only client that day.
