Client Stories: Executive Director of Philanthropy Jen Haile

S72 Client Headshot

Can you introduce yourself and tell us a bit about what you do?

I'm Jen Haile and have spent my career connecting people to issues that they care about. I'm Executive Director of Philanthropy at CARE, an incredible organization working to defeat poverty around the world by centering girls and women.

What motivated you to get a new headshot?  How old was your previous headshot?

I loved my old headshot but believe in presenting who I am now, not who I was nine years ago. I'm older, wiser, and more experienced and should reflect this in my professional presence.

How did you feel about your old headshot, and what were you looking for in your new one?

To be honest, I hate most headshots. They don't show one's personality. Some are too fake, some are so boring. Why not bring someone to life?

In what ways do you think your new headshot has impacted your business, visibility or job search?

For better or worse, we make impressions everyday with everyone we interact with. A headshot is an important part of your package. You should see it as an important part of your resume, your profile.

Have you received any feedback on your new headshot?

My mother loves it!

How important do you think a professional headshot is for someone in your field?

Essential

What advice would you give to someone considering getting a new headshot?

Prepare. Pick your outfit in advance, make sure you are well rested and feel great. I was in a rush so did none of this but will next time!

Were you nervous or uncomfortable with the idea of having your photos taken and if so how was the experience in the end?

Jeff makes you feel so comfortable. He's efficient but not rushed. His personality is disarming.

How did you prepare for your headshot session, and do you have any tips for others on how to get ready for theirs?

Do all the things I failed to do. Sleep well in advance. Have others weigh in on your clothing choice and style. Have a fresh haircut. Natural make-up.

How was your experience working with S72 for your headshot session?

Perfect. Fun. Can't wait to do it again.
