Can you introduce yourself and tell us a bit about what you do and your industry?

I am the founder and CEO of elan Precision Hair Care - a start up. elan is a new professional hair brand that provides hair stylists with the tools to customize products for each individual client so that we can make and ship to their home.

What motivated you to get a new headshot? How old was your previous headshot?

As I am forging a new path in professional hair care, I want people to know that I am an individual not a mega brand.

How did you feel about your old headshot prior to coming to me, and what were you looking for in your new one?

My previous headshot was not old but I felt it didn't capture me in the way I wanted to be seen -- confident and human.

In what ways do you think your new headshot has impacted your business, visibility or job search?

I am launching in a month or so. We will see.

Have you received any feedback or comments on your new headshot?

Everyone who has seen my headshots have been impressed. I had to print some for my husband's office.

How important do you think a professional headshot is for someone in your field?

I am making hair stylists be the person behind the product they sell and so they also want to see the person behind the product.

Some people are getting AI Headshots, why did you decide they weren't for you?

AI Headshots are clearly that. Like AI the photos are soul-less.

What advice would you give to someone considering getting a professional headshot?

Get it and get someone who knows what they are doing - like you.

Were you nervous or uncomfortable with the idea of having your photos taken and if so how was the experience in the end?

I was very nervous and uncomfortable. By the end, I was more relaxed which shows in the pictures. Jeff is obviously a pro which helped. Next time I would wear less makeup and work on being more myself.

How did you prepare for your headshot session, and do you have any tips for others on how to get ready for theirs?

I had my makeup done professionally. I still would do that but even more naturally. Pick clothes you really like and are comfortable in.

Is there anything else you'd like to share about your experience or the impact of your new headshot?

i have been shying away from cameras for years. I think I can now do it again.

How was your experience working with S72 for your headshot session?

Your prep emails made me nervous. I didn't know what to expect. You made me more relaxed after we met.
