Client Stories: Forensic Accountant Arisa Kimura
Can you introduce yourself and tell us a bit about what you do?
I'm Arisa Kimura. I've been working in e-discovery and forensic industry for over 10 years. Last year, I took a year off from work to focus on studying accounting to bring myself next level up to become a Forensic Accountant. Lately, I've started getting accounting work experiences. Although I am still on the road to become a Forensic Accountant export, I am so delightful the effort I putted into and opportunities that I've been receiving as a result. Right now even e-discovery and forensic work are more enjoyable and insightful. I've started my new chapter and wanted to get a new headshot at S72!
What motivated you to get a new headshot? How old was your previous headshot?
This year is my turning point where I've started building experiences on my new career path for which I've been planning and prepared for a few years. Not only professional headshot is helpful but also I want to look back someday to remember the year when I've set an intention in my life.
How did you feel about your old headshot, and what were you looking for in your new one?
I took my first headshot with S72 in 2019 when my life was so influenced by Yoga. At that time, instead of getting a business like photo, I wanted to emphasize my energetic and easy going aspect to use it for social networking purpose. That explained that in old headshots, many clothes I wore were very casual.
My energy shifted since, and now, after the 5 years, I wanted to get a new headshot to look more professional.
In what ways do you think your new headshot has impacted your business, visibility or job search?
Definitely look more professional. Hopefully look reliable too because accounting industry emphasizes it.
Have you received any feedback on your new headshot?
I have not taken the new headshots yet, but, I've received so many complements for the old headshot by S72.
How important do you think a professional headshot is for someone in your field?
Very important because my work involves customer facing.
What advice would you give to someone considering getting a new headshot?
My first headshot with S72 changed my life in a very positive way. I'm being looked at positively because of the headshot on LinkedIn or email. I think that someone's impression from image or photo lasts longer in viewer's head. If the photo is good, the viewer will get the good impression on you and the impression lasts long. I know for sure that my old professional headshot brought me more jobs or opportunities than the money I spent on the headshot.
Were you nervous or uncomfortable with the idea of having your photos taken and if so how was the experience in the end?
I was nervous probably throughout the whole session because it was entirely new experience to me. However, I was very surprised and impressed to see later a lot of natural smiling and looking photos were taken during the session.
How did you prepare for your headshot session, and do you have any tips for others on how to get ready for theirs?
I brought about 5 patterns of clothes and was able to wear each one during the session. If I do it again, probably 3 patterns are enough. Rather, I will prefer to spend more time on different posing with each pattern of clothes.
How was your experience working with S72 for your headshot session?
After the session with Jeff, I believe Jeff is Bay Area #1 photographer! Jeff will take very good professional headshots. His lightning skills is beyond - my skin looks much smoother. He knows how to pose and take from a variety of angles. I highly recommend to get a session at S72!
