Client Stories: Brand Consultant Rob Meyerson

S72 Client Headshot

Can you introduce yourself and tell us a bit about what you do?

My name is Rob Meyerson. I'm a brand consultant. I run my own agency, Heirloom.

What motivated you to get a new headshot?  How old was your previous headshot?

My old headshot was probably over five years old; I looked a lot younger and had shorter hair. Also, it was taken from an angle, while I was mid-sentence, which made it an interesting photo, but not suitable for every purpose I had in mind.

How did you feel about your old headshot, and what were you looking for in your new one?

For the new headshot, I needed something I could use in almost any professional setting. I'd recently written my first book, Brand Naming, and specifically wanted an author photo for the book.

In what ways do you think your new headshot has impacted your business, visibility or job search?

It's become my consistent "look" online. As a branding professional, I know the importance of visual consistency. Next to my logo, this photo is probably the most identifiable aspect of my company's visual identity.

Have you received any feedback on your new headshot?

Just the other day on a Zoom call, a client asked me who took my photo! She said the lighting was amazing, so she wanted to know. Funny enough, someone else on the same call had also had their headshot taking by S72.

How important do you think a professional headshot is for someone in your field?

Very important.

What advice would you give to someone considering getting a new headshot?

I'd recommend it. Don't use a selfie. Don't use a photo from your last vacation with everyone else cropped out.

Were you nervous or uncomfortable with the idea of having your photos taken and if so how was the experience in the end?

I don't love having my photo taken. I'm never quite sure how to stand or sit, where to put my hands, etc. Jeff made it easy. He's very quick— there was almost no time to get nervous or uncomfortable. And he told me exactly what to do, so I didn't have to think too much.

How did you prepare for your headshot session, and do you have any tips for others on how to get ready for theirs?

I got a haircut from someone I trust about a week before the headshot, and I picked a sweater that was neutral, without any patterns or stripes.

How was your experience working with S72 for your headshot session?

Great!!
