Can you introduce yourself and tell us a bit about what you do?

I’m Henry Robinson, an experienced product manager with over 15 years in the automotive and tech industries. I specialize in developing and launching B2B and B2C software products. Known for my hands-on approach, I excel in market research, data-driven decisions, and leading cross-functional teams. My work in AI and VR has led to successful product rollouts and significant business growth. I am passionate about integrating new technologies and improving user experiences.

What motivated you to get a new headshot?  How old was your previous headshot?

I lost a significant amount of weight and wanted my headshot to better reflect my current appearance. Additionally, none of my previous online photos were taken by professionals, and I felt it was important to look my best. Finally, I am currently job searching and thought having a professional photo for LinkedIn would create a better first impression.

How did you feel about your old headshot, and what were you looking for in your new one?

My old headshot was not what I was looking for. It was taken by a photographer hired by my previous employer for standardized photos for our org chart. We wore similar clothes and used the same background. The photographer chose a photo that fit the company's look, but I was unhappy with my outfit, expression, background, and the image quality. I used that photo for 8 years out of laziness. For my new headshot, I wanted something high-quality and unique that showed my personality. I aimed for a casual yet professional look and sought a professional photo shoot with guidance on posing and selecting photos that captured my essence.

In what ways do you think your new headshot has impacted your business, visibility or job search?

I have used this headshot as my go-to photo for numerous speaking engagements around the world.

Have you received any feedback on your new headshot?

Yes, I have received dozens of compliments, particularly from people who noticed my weight loss. Several people have also commented on the image quality and composition.

How important do you think a professional headshot is for someone in your field?

A professional headshot conveys success, confidence, experience, and professionalism. While less crucial than in fields like acting, attractiveness still matters in business, and profile photos often shape first impressions.

What advice would you give to someone considering getting a new headshot?

1. Look at as many photos as you can and determine what you like best. See what kinds of photos others in your field have.
2. Decide whether you want uniformity or uniqueness.
3. Find a photographer whose style fits your overall goal.

Were you nervous or uncomfortable with the idea of having your photos taken and if so how was the experience in the end?

I was a bit nervous because I had never done it before, which is why working with a professional is important. A good photographer can coax out the best versions of you while making you feel at ease. My goal was to capture my authentic self in a professionally appropriate yet beautiful and artistically unique way.

Is there anything else you’d like to share about your experience or the impact of your new headshot?

I would highly recommend the experience to anyone.

How was your experience working with S72 for your headshot session?

I enjoyed working with S72. I felt comfortable and at ease. The process was simple and straightforward, and I am very happy with the images. My only feedback is that I would have liked more explanation about the optional items like backgrounds and lighting choices. As a first-timer, I could have used a bit more guidance when selecting options for my shoot and final photos.
