Client Stories: Technology Founder Adam Cheyer
Can you introduce yourself and tell us a bit about what you do?
My name is Adam Cheyer, I'm a technology founder, having helped start five companies: Siri (sold to Apple to build their voice assistant), Viv Labs (sold to Samsung, AI Tech deployed on 500M devices), Change.org (world's largest petition platform with 500M+ members), Sentient (first large scale machine learning company, sold to Cognizant), and GamePlanner.ai (sold to Airbnb).
What motivated you to get a new headshot? How old was your previous headshot?
The photo I was using for public speeches and such was about 10 years old and I felt no longer accurately represented how I look today.
How did you feel about your old headshot, and what were you looking for in your new one?
I liked my previous headshot but it was just a decent-looking amateur photo, cropped out of a scene with a few other people. I wanted a hi-resolution, professional photo that made me look confident and energetic.
In what ways do you think your new headshot has impacted your business, visibility or job search?
I have now used this headshot as my go-to photo for numerous speaking engagements around the world.
Have you received any feedback on your new headshot?
Not directly, but people have been hiring me to speak to them and I think the headshot is a big factor in their consideration.
How important do you think a professional headshot is for someone in your field?
It is always essential to make a solid impression on someone, and whether you are raising money for a company, wanting to look professional on your resume for a job search, or just wanting a photo to represent you on your website, a high-quality headshot can really raise your image.
What advice would you give to someone considering getting a new headshot?
Wear clothes that make you feel comfortable and confident.
Were you nervous or uncomfortable with the idea of having your photos taken and if so how was the experience in the end?
I wouldn't say I was comfortable with the idea of posing for photos, but the result was worth it.
How did you prepare for your headshot session, and do you have any tips for others on how to get ready for theirs?
I brushed me teeth and combed my hair... :-)
Is there anything else you’d like to share about your experience or the impact of your new headshot?
Not really
How was your experience working with S72 for your headshot session?
The experience was relatively quick and painless, and the results were fantastic.
