Client Stories: Psychologist Zoltan Nabilek
Can you introduce yourself and tell us a bit about what you do?
I am Zoltan Nabilek, a clinical psychologist known as DrZ by my patients, specializing in eating disorders for more than ten years. Observing the impact of mainstream culture's diet approach on eating-related issues sparked my interest in exploring how culture shapes individuals' perceptions of sex and sexuality. Motivated by this reflection, I made the decision to further my education by enrolling in a program to become a certified sex therapist.
What motivated you to get a new headshot? How old was your previous headshot?
As many can imagine, contacting a sex therapist can be a very challenging step. The importance of creating a welcoming environment on my website, where people feel safe and supported in seeking help, motivated me to update my headshots.
How did you feel about your old headshot, and what were you looking for in your new one?
My previous headshots clearly represented the "typical" therapist image. The professional clothing and hairstyle conveyed a sense of expertise in my field. However, my goal shifted from just appearing knowledgeable to also showing confidence in my expertise and understanding of the field, while also projecting an image of being approachable and open to individuals looking to explore their personal issues.
In what ways do you think your new headshot has impacted your business, visibility or job search?
I believe the new headshots just give me a chance to reflect on this idea that I can be approachable personal and professional at the same time.
Have you received any feedback on your new headshot?
Several individuals noted that the new images embody precisely that.
How important do you think a professional headshot is for someone in your field?
Most of the time, the initial interaction with a therapist occurs in the digital realm and as a result, the first impressions are crucial in an online presence. Whether it is a single word, a specific color, or an impressive degree, these elements can capture someone's attention and encourage them to contact the therapist. Visual elements, such as images, help individuals envision themselves with the therapist, creating a sense of security when making that initial contact.
What advice would you give to someone considering getting a new headshot?
I think it's very important to ask the question: how can you show your true self through the images that are taken by a professional.
How did you prepare for your headshot session, and do you have any tips for others on how to get ready for theirs?
Wear an outfit that represents yourself, smart looking without being too formal.
How was your experience working with S72 for your headshot session?
I have thought quite a bit about the images I wanted to create to accompany my professional identity. I arrived at the studio with concrete ideas regarding the message I wanted to deliver to my potential clients. Jeff listened to me and collaboratively worked with me to find the angle that achieved just that.
