Client Stories: Pharma Marketing Valerie Ramadhan

S72 Client Headshot

Can you introduce yourself and tell us a bit about what you do?

My name is Valerie Ramadhan and I work on the marketing team for a pharma services company. Our company helps pharma, biotech and medical device companies bring their asset/therapy to market. I work with our leaders to market their services to clients and prospects.

What motivated you to get a new headshot?  How old was your previous headshot?

My previous professional headshot was really old - I was young and my look was outdated! In the meantime, I was using a headshot that wasn't professional on LinkedIn and I wanted something that represented what I currently looked like that also looked polished.

How did you feel about your old headshot, and what were you looking for in your new one?

My old headshot was done at a company event, so it was a quick process, with no editing, and not very many options. I was looking for something where I had the photographer's full attention and had many options to choose from.

In what ways do you think your new headshot has impacted your business, visibility or job search?

I think it helped to reflect who I am now and presents a professional look to colleagues and the industry. I don’t know that a headshot alone should make or break your job search, but if you do have one, it should be one you're proud to share.

How important do you think a professional headshot is for someone in your field?

I think it's a nice-to-have for someone in a shared services role like me, but for experts in the pharma/medical industry - I think it's a must!

What advice would you give to someone considering getting a new headshot?

Spend the time and research a photographer that has examples you like. Personally, I would splurge a bit on a nice headshot or photograph if you plan on using it for the next 5 years. Bring a few outfits and consider going earlier in the day when makeup/hair is fresh!

Were you nervous or uncomfortable with the idea of having your photos taken and if so how was the experience in the end?

Not really, and the experience was great!

How did you prepare for your headshot session, and do you have any tips for others on how to get ready for theirs?

I looked at headshot examples I liked and chose a few outfits that I thought would also look nice.

Is there anything else you’d like to share about your experience or the impact of your new headshot?

The experience was great. The photoshoot went smoothly, and I was able to share the proofs with my family to help me pick. It didn’t take long for the final, re-touched headshot to arrive. Thank you so much! It was something I wanted for a really long time and was really glad I did it.

How was your experience working with S72 for your headshot session?

It was great! Would definitely recommend!! Your headshots are truly a work of art.
